Fruit and Vegetable Consumption is Inversely Associated with Blood Pressure in a Mediterranean Population with a High Vegetable-Fat Intake: the Seguimiento Universidad de Navarra (SUN) Study
There is evidence that a diet rich in fruit and vegetables reduces blood pressure (BP). Characteristically, the Mediterranean diet is rich in plant-derived foods and also in fat, but studies conducted in Mediterranean countries to relate diet to BP are scarce.

Gamma-Tocopherol as a Possible Marker for Nutrition-Related Risk: Results from Four National Diet and Nutrition Surveys in Britain
Relationships between vitamin E status (alpha and gamma-tocopherol and their ratio in plasma), anthropometric and biochemical indices, and food and nutrient intakes, were studied in four British National Diet and Nutrition Surveys: children aged 1.5-4.5 years, young people aged 4.0-18.0 years, adults 19.0-64.0 years and adults aged greater than less than 65.0 years.

Single-meal studies have indicated that calcium inhibits iron absorption in humans. However, numerous dietary factors influence iron absorption, and the effect of calcium may not be as pronounced when calcium is served as part of a whole diet.
